Beaver Dam Holiday Parade Returns Saturday

(Beaver Dam) Organizers with the annual Beaver Dam Holiday Parade say there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the festivities this year. The day gets underway Saturday with the cocoa walk beginning at 10am.

Visitors to the downtown will get a chance to warm up from the cold with a warm beverage at a number of participating businesses including Active Outfitters, Chippy’s Popcorn Creations, Great Harvest Bread Company, McKinstry’s Home Furnishings, and more.

Santa’s Hometown Holiday Adventure also kicks off at 10am. Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce President Tracy Propst says the all-around town holiday adventure is now in its third year.

“There’s a Santa greet here at the chamber…we have Santa until 12:30pm and we also have a giveaway at the chamber,” says Propst. “Big giveaways at the Beaver Dam Police Station. Basically, if you come in off of Park Avenue and pull through the police station, all the way to Washington Street, you’ll see wonderful characters along the way.

“Some giveaways from the Police and Firefighter Charities as well as from the Heffron family. There is a Holiday giveaway in the third lane at American Bank drive-through…the one on Spring Street.”

There will also be holiday giveaways at Dance Now! Dance Studio, Pizza Ranch, Bestway Driving, and Nancy Zieman Sewing Studio. A bake sale benefitting the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre runs from 10am to 6:30pm at 139 Front Street.

The holiday parade sponsored by Downtown Beaver Dam Inc. starts at 5:30pm.

“It’s about an hour parade,” says Propst. “They will be coming off of Madison Street on to the 200 block of Front Street and then to the 100 block of Front Street. They will be taking a right on to Spring Street and going to the 100 through 300 block of Spring Street and ending at Mill Street. So, it’s a nice little parade route.”

Propst says there are about 48 entries in this year’s parade which will be broadcast on air and streamed live on DailyDodge TV.
