Beaver Dam Girls Slay Slinger In Sectional Semifinal

The Beaver Dam (22-3) girls basketball team took down former Wisconsin Little Ten foe Slinger 71-33 in a WIAA Division Two Sectional Semifinal at Watertown on Thursday night.   The Golden Beavers set the tone early, jumping out to an 11-0 lead and didn’t allow a Slinger (20-5) hoop until 9:25 left in the half.   Junior Maty Wilke scored 15 of her game high 20 points in the 1st half as BD opened up a 35-16 lead at the half. Wilke added 9 rebounds and 9 assists.   Junior Natalie Jens added 16 in the win.  Anna Breuer led the Owls with 17 points.

Tim Chase’s squad will look to return to the WIAA State Girls Basketball Tournament in Green Bay on Saturday as they square off with Pulaski in a Sectional Final at Ashwaubenon.
