Beaver Dam Girls Face Cedarburg In Sectional Semifinal Tonight

The Beaver Dam High School girls basketball team heads to Oshkosh North for a WIAA Division Two Sectional Semifinal against Cedarburg tonight.  You can hear the game on 1430 WBEV and also watch live on DailyDodge TV presented by Columbus Family Dental, QBS Law and the Beaver Dam Unified School District.

Beaver Dam (24-2) earned their way to the Sectional with a 66-26 win over West Bend West and a 60-43 decision against Grafton.  Gabby Wilke leads the Golden Beavers in scoring heading into the Sectional at 16.7 points per game.  Kyle Wittnebel is also in double figures at 10.3 and Bella Oestreicher contributes 9.7 points per contest.

Cedarburg (22-4) roll into Oshkosh as runner-up of the tough North Shore Conference.  The Bulldogs downs Plymouth 78-43 and Slinger 63-55 to earn a Regional championship.  Senior Claire Diener, an NCAA Division II Rockhurst recruit, leads Cedarburg in scoring at 18.2 points per game.  Regan Paul (14.4) and Mary Stroebel (10.6) also average in double figures for the Bulldogs.

These teams last met on March 2nd, 2017 in a WIAA Division Two Sectional Semifinal at Hartford.  The Golden Beavers pulled out a 76-50 win on their way to the Division Two state championship.  Cassidy Trotter led BD with 23 points in that game while Kalli Murphy had 16 for Cedarburg.

Tonight’s game tips off at 7pm.  Pregame coverage on WBEV and DDTV is set for 6:30pm.
