(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Fire Department was recently recognized for their safety improvement initiatives. The agency received the Safety Section Leadership Award by the Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs Association. The award was presented during the association’s annual conference in Green Bay this past Saturday.
Beaver Dam was selected for their participation in the Fireground Survival Train the Trainer Program, offering extensive training and educational opportunities, working with fire departments to offer trainings regionally, finalizing plans for upgraded training facilities, and their active cadet program.
The Safety Section Leadership Award supports the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation to reduce injuries and line of duty deaths. Each year, the association chooses one of Wisconsin’s 762 fire departments for this award.
Beaver Dam Fire Chief Michael Wesle thanked the citizens of the city, the Police and Fire Commission, the Common Council, and Mayor Becky Glewen for allowing them to serve this great community.
