(Beaver Dam) Firefighters extinguished a bus that caught fire in the town of Beaver Dam Thursday afternoon. The Beaver Dam Fire Department responded to N7160 Raceway Road behind the Cenex gas station just after 1pm and found a single bus up in flames.
Prior to their arrival, an employee of Badger Bus used a fire extinguisher on the blaze while other employees and staff of United Cooperative moved several buses in the immediate vicinity of the fire. Fire Chief Michael Wesle says crews deployed a hose line and brought the fire under control in five minutes.
He says units remained on scene for nearly an hour ensuring the blaze was out and to perform mop up operations. Wesle adds that the quick actions of the Badger Bus and United Cooperative employees prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buses. The cause is undetermined.
