(Beaver Dam) A reminder for Beaver Dam residents, beginning Saturday the Department of Public Works Garage will begin extended hours. The site, located on 640 South Center Street, will be open from 8am to noon.
City officials say this is in addition to the regular hours of 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday, expect for holidays. Saturday hours will continue throughout the summer months until an announced date in late autumn. No waste of any kind will be accepted from contractors or non-city residents. Attendants may ask for proof of residency if they suspect waste is being brought in from outside of Beaver Dam. Township waste is not accepted.
The drop-off site accepts grass clippings, leaves, garden vines, flowers, straw, hay, pine needles, brush, tree limbs that are seven-inches or less in thickness, and hedge or shrubbery cuttings. No fruits, vegetables, garbage or building materials will be accepted.
Appropriate signs are posted to assist residents as to where to deposit approved yard waste materials, as well as waste engine oil and certain acceptable rough metals, which city residents can also drop off.
