(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Unified School District has adopted a new policy for weather delays or closings for the current school year. In the event of heavy snow, ice, fog or extreme cold conditions, Superintendent Mark DiStefano will contact local media and request they announce school closing information. First announcements will be made before 6am based upon the best available weather information. School officials will determine whether to delay or close the school if the strength of the storm, projected snow totals or wind chill factors impact students who must walk to school and the general circumstances of the school situation. The new policy also covers Saint Katharine Drexel and Saint Stephen. Parents are encouraged to check the district website at www.bdusd.org and the district Facebook page for updates or listen to AM1430 WBEV and 95.3 WXRO for announcements. DailyDodge.com will also post information concerning school closings.
