(Beaver Dam) Migratory birds is getting a day of recognition in Beaver Dam.
The city’s Common Council this week adopted a resolution designating today (Saturday, May 11th) as International Migratory Bird Day. International Migratory Bird Day is observed nationally, usually on the second Saturday in May. Since 1993 the occasion has become a primary vehicle for focusing public attention on the nearly 350 species that travel between nesting habitats throughout North America and their wintering grounds to the south.
The resolution adopted by the Beaver Dam council urges all citizens to celebrate this observance and to support efforts to protect and conserve migratory birds and their habitats in the community and the word at large.
