Beaver Dam Chamber Receives Grant For Outdoor Movies

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce outdoor movie proposal was recently awarded a state grant. The AARP Wisconsin’s “Small Dollar, Big Impact” grants are being awarded monthly this year to projects across the state that are designed to improve communities and make them better places to live, work and play. Judges selected the chamber’s bid for a $1,000 grant that will help them offer outdoor and drive-in movies to the public. Beaver Dam Chamber President Tracy Propst says they are beyond thrilled and thankful to the AARP for the grant which is helping fund this new community program. She says movies are something everyone can enjoy. The grant money will cover the remaining cost of a high lumen projector, transmitter and a portion of a movie license to move forward with the project. The Dodge County Fairgrounds has donated space for a movie showing and WDS Construction helped sponsor the purchase of a 33-foot blow-up movie screen. The next outdoor movie will be today (Friday) at Slumberland in Beaver Dam. More information is available at https://dailydodge.com/events/.
