Beaver Dam Chamber Promoting Virtual Forum With WMC

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Chamber is encouraging area businesses leaders to attend a virtual presentation with officials of the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. The WMC Foundation recently released its Wisconsin 2035 report which is an economic blueprint for the state to be successful over the next 15 years.

Beaver Dam Area Chamber of Commerce President Tracy Propst says the Foundation met and interviewed more than 80 leaders in manufacturing, construction, agriculture, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, and government, among many others. She says their conversation’s reinforced the state’s biggest problem right now is workforce and that the level of concern is higher than ever before.

Wisconsin business leaders proposed a number of ways to attract and retain workers, along with forward-looking ideas to make the state more competitive in employee recruitment. Propst says some of the report’s recommendations include funding a sustained talent attraction campaign to grow Wisconsin’s working age population, significantly reduce and reform the state’s tax burden to make the state more competitive, and bridging the skills gap.

The hour-long virtual presentation covering the report’s findings will be on Thursday beginning at noon. Click HERE to RSVP.
