Beaver Dam Chamber Highlights Several Grant Opportunities

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce is highlighting several grant opportunities. Chamber President Tracy Propst says if there are grant dollars available, she wants to make sure those funds are directed to people who need it in Dodge County.

She says the application window for the Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin grant is open until April 2nd. The grant is for those who market their own agricultural products. Propst says qualified applicants include individuals or businesses that do production agriculture food processing or distribution. She says the grants range between $5,000 and $50,000 and eligible projects include compensation for personnel, consulting services as well as materials and supplies. Propst notes that applicants must be willing to provide a cash or in-kind match of at least 50-percent of the total project cost.

She also highlighted the Main Street Bounceback grant, which has already been awarded to at least nine business in Beaver Dam. Propst says those wanting to apply must be a new or existing business opening into a new location or expanding operations into existing vacant commercial properties. The grant provides a payout of $10,000. Applications can be submitted through June 30th.

During yesterday’s Community Comment, Propst says American Rescue Plan Act dollars helped fund the Meat Talent Development program which supports the meat processing industry. She says grants are available for those interested in going into the butchering trade.
