(Beaver Dam) Beginning June 3rd, Advanced Disposal will start collecting bulk garbage items on the first Wednesday and third Saturday of each month. Bulk waste is defined as, but no limited to, furniture, wooden doors and windows and rolled carpet, not exceeding four-feet-to-six-feet in length. Per the state’s E-Cycle law, items that will not be collected include desktops and laptop computers, printers, fax machines, cell phones, DVD players and computer monitors. In addition, no metal items like bed springs, doors, windows and pipes will be collected. No bundled or loose piles of building materials will be collected either. Building materials like lumber must be broken down and placed in the weekly collection cart. Items should be placed at the street edge no later than 7am on the day of collection and cannot be placed out sooner than 24 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up. Residents can bring non-metal furniture, mattresses and box springs, carpet rolls not exceeding four feet in length or one foot in diameter and countertops with a length smaller than four feet or three feet in width to the drop-off site at the south end of Myrtle Road. The service is only available to city residents. No waste of any kind is accepted from outside the city limits as well as from contractor activity.
