Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation Adds Marsh Haven Nature Center To Family Of Funds

(Waupun) The Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation has added Marsh Haven Nature Center to their family of funds. The Marsh Haven Nature Center Non-Endowed Fund and the Marsh Haven Endowment Fund were established through the passion and diligence of Vice President Rick Vant Hoff and Executive Director Renee Wahlen, and with the support of the Marsh Haven Nature Center board of directors.

The funds will ensure the longevity of Marsh Haven Nature Center and its educational programs. Following in the footsteps of founders Larry and Sandy Vine, the funds will carry on the legacy of the Horicon Marsh area and build upon the sweat equity of Marsh Haven Nature Center. The Marsh Haven Nature Center Non-Endowed Fund and the Marsh Haven Endowment Fund provide a unique and easy way for the community to continue their support of the center.

Marsh Haven Nature Center is on the north end of the Horicon Marsh, three miles east of Waupun. The center was founded as a grassroots effort in 1984 by Larry and Sandy Vine. At the time, Larry worked for the DNR and took notice that there was no center for visitors to stop and learn about the Horicon Marsh. Through community support, the nonprofit, volunteer-supported center now offers visitors an opportunity to learn more about the history and wildlife of the Horicon Marsh area. Visitors can hike the trails, learn about nature during education programs, attend special weekend events, or camp.

Those interested in supporting Marsh Haven Nature Center’s Non-Endowed Fund or Endowment Fund can learn more about becoming a donor at www.beaverdamacf.com/becomeadonor or by contacting Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation President Tom Heffron at (920) 763-2618.
