Beaver Dam Approves $80K Incentive For Expansion Of Downtown Business

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council Monday night approved incentives that will allow a downtown business to expand. Range Investments, which operates Nunatak Coffee – formerly known as Blackwater – is expanding and consolidating its operations into a building at 315 South Spring Street. The city is providing an incentive of up to 20-percent of the $400-thousand-dollar project cost. An amount not to exceed $80-thousand dollars will come from Tax Increment Finance District #6, paid upon completion of the project. The contract has stipulations protecting the city, requiring substantial construction to be completed by the end of next year and penalties for selling the property within five years. Owner Josiah Vilmin says the expansion and remodeling of the building at the city’s southern entrance will bring jobs downtown during construction and in the long-term at the business. The facility will house a café with outdoor seating and a larger coffee roasting facility.
