In the most unique and challenging season ever for high school student athletes, the Beaver Dam High School boys hockey team will add Senior Night to the list of unprecedented experiences.
The Golden Beavers final home game of the season was cut short on Friday night because of concerns over air quality at the rink. The Senior Night activities honoring the class of 2021 were conducted between the 1st and 2nd periods and at that point officials determined the rink needed to be cleared.
This year’s senior class includes; Ian Conlin, Logan Heim, Ty Bailey, Wesley Biel, and Noah Banes, and Kirk Davis.
“It’s been hard for them. They’ve taken it in stride.” Golden Beaver head coach Doug Kraft told DailyDodge.com. “I know they were really appreciative to get the games in that we could and the practices that we could and as much normalcy as we could for them to participate in their sport. They’ve probably handled it better than probably some of the adults did. They were really happy to play.”
The Golden Beavers had a 4-0 lead over Stoughton after the first period last night behind goals from Conlin, Biel, Gavin Hearley, and Alex Woods.
Beaver Dam (9-9) opens up the playoffs on Tuesday night when they host Appleton at the Family Center. The puck drops at 7pm.
