(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam School Board passed their 2023-2024 budget and tax levy at a recent meeting. The budget totals just over $46.5-million-dollars and the levy is around $17.9-million.
The mill rate is $7.09 per one-thousand-dollars of assessed value, a decrease of 8.65-percent from the current budget year. Director of Business Services Ryan Cashman says the district anticipates surrounding districts’ mill rates to decrease as well.
“We would project to be about in the middle of the pack on that,” Cashman says. “Very close to the state average.”
For the overall budget, Cashman says that while the fund balance actual dollars increase in this budget, the percentage of fund balance decreases because it is calculated based on expenditures in 2023-2024.
