Freshman McKenna Nelson was medalist in Beaver Dam’s Badger Large Conference dual Meet with Monona Grove at Door Creek. Nelson shot a 2 over 37 beating Monona Grove’s Lauren Reed by 1 shot. Monona Grove won the team meet 177 to 218.
Other scores for Beaver Dam were Aspen Abel with a 58 Brooklyn Holt 61 Jennifer Bennett 62 and Mia Nortman 63.
“It was good to get our first conference meet in after getting rained out on Monday. McKenna played a solid round for the first time ever playing at Door Creek. Our other players are getting better hitting quality shots. We just have to stay away from the big numbers and learn how to score. So much of that is just your play inside of 100 yards and on the greens. We have a lot of room to improve on our team scores. ” – Coach Tim Chase told 1430 ESPN.
The teams next conference meet will be next Wednesday at Watertown.
