BDPD Offering Robbery Training

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Police Department is offering a training course for local businesses on how to handle robberies. The call to action comes several weeks after Chase Bank in Beaver Dam was robbed. The suspect presented the bank teller with a note demanding cash from the drawer. The threat of a weapon was implied but no weapon was displayed.

During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Officer Tony Karel encouraged the business community to sign-up. He says Detective Dan Kuntz specializes in robbery trainings for businesses and banks. He says there are other staff members of the department who can provide active shooting training. Karel says the course gives businesses insight into how police handle robberies and tips for employees to do before law enforcement arrives.

To sign-up for the course, businesses can contact Dan Kuntz at 920-887-4613 ext. 521. Meanwhile, authorities are still looking for information that can led to the arrest of the Chase Bank robbery perpetrator. Anyone with details of the event are asked to contact Beaver Dam Police Lieutenant of Detectives Terrence Gebhardt at 920-887-4614 or the Beaver Dam Police Department at 920-887-4612.
