(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Police Charities, Inc. are collecting supplies for those affected by the devastating tornadoes down south. The organization has challenged the community to help fill a truck with donations on two upcoming opportunities. On Sunday, January 2nd, from noon to 4pm and on Monday, January 3rd, from 5pm to 8pm citizens can stop by the police department at 123 Park Avenue to drop off their donations. Officials say this is a drive thru style, so the public can just pop their trunk and they will unload the vehicle.
Items needed include paper products, shampoo, toothbrushes, blankets, non-perishable food, toys, and books. Cash or check donations are also being accepted at the police department. A link will soon be available to make monetary donations online through American Bank and PayPal. The Police Charities say the truck will be taken to a fire station in Kentucky on January 4th where the supplies will be distributed to affected communities. Funds will be donated to an organization that has yet to be determined.
