Beaver Dam 26 Portage 29
The Beaver Dam boys cross country team edged Portage 26-29 on Thursday at Wyona Park in Wyocena, Wisconsin. Golden Beaver senior Gavin Czarnecki was the meet medalist finishing in a time of 17:02, a full one minute and twenty-one seconds faster than the 2nd place finisher. BDHS’s Boston Damon finished fourth with a time 18:54. Aaron Uhrich took 5th at 19:09. Luke Eberle 7th at 19:21 and Peter Kremsreither was 9th at 19:52.
Girls Cross Country
The Beaver Dam girls cross country team put up a perfect score, sweeping the top five spots on Thursday at Portage. Kylie Hackbarth won the meet in a time of 20:47. Hannah Hallman was 2nd in 21:08. Makenzie Gritzmacher (21:22) was third, Riley Czarnecki (21:39) was 4th, and Angelique Vega (21:58) rounded out the BDHS scoring with a fifth place finish. Portage didn’t field a full team for the event.
