Ian Conlin tallied a hat trick as the Beaver Dam boy soccer team blew out Monroe 8-0 on Tuesday night. Noah Banes made three saves to earn the win.
“We played well tonight once we got ourselves organized and under control. It took us a bit to get ourselves going and then we played well.” Head Coach Dave Elgersma told DailyDodge.com. “We had a lot of guys moving in and out which affected our style of play. Francisco Padilla scored his first goal of the season in his first game. He added some good spark to our attack tonight along with JR Guerrero. Ian Conlin had a very hood night scoring 3 goals of which 2 were on free kicks. Ian strikes the ball well which will give the goalkeeper a tough ball to handle. Defensively tonight we played well and Justin Mangan did another great job of keeping the back line organized. We had important contributions from a number of players tonight all over the field and kept them on their heals the majority of the game. This was truly a team effort as everyone was available for the first time tonight and it felt good to see them support each other even if they were not on the field. We play at Waunakee on Thursday which will be another tough match.”
