The Beaver Dam boys soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at DeForest on Tuesday night. The Golden Beavers gave up three goals in the first half to Nick Anderson (27m), Triston Yizak (33) and Owen Chambers (39). Keaton Coopman added the final score in the 78th minute. Owen Thomas made 3 saves to pick up the shutout victory. Beaver Dam senior Noah Banes collected nine saves.
“They are a fast team and that speed affected us tonight.” Golden Beaver Head Coach Dave Elgersma told DailyDodge.com. “We gave up 3 goals in the first half on a couple of good plays by them. We needed to be more aggressive to the ball. We adjusted better in the second half and played better. The only goal we surrendered in the second half was a rebound off of a diving save by Noah. We connected well for some time tonight and we’re just a bit too impatient at times which caused us to turnover the ball unnecessarily. I am proud of the way these guys picked up play in the second half and we created some very good opportunities for shots, we just didn’t hit the net.”
Beaver Dam (1-2) will host Fort Atkinson on Thursday night at Prairie View Elementary. You can watch that game on the DailyDodge.com Videostream presented by Columbus Family Dental and the Beaver Dam Unified School District. The match starts at 5pm.
