(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Fire Department responded to a manufacturing facility fire early Thursday morning. Just after 2am, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Northwood Paper Converting reporting a fire in the ductwork. Smoke was visible at the time of the call, and the building was being evacuated.
Upon arrival at the business located at 230 Corporate Drive, crews found smoke coming from a “trim system tube.” Firefighters quickly identified the location of the fire and worked with maintenance personnel to de-energize the effected equipment. The fire department was then able to disassemble the trim tubing around an electrical motor and fully extinguish the blaze.
Crews were on scene for around an hour-and-a-half. Maintenance personnel believe the fire was caused by a clog in the paper trim system tub that extended to an electrical motor. No injuries were reported.
