BDCH Becomes Charter Organization For Local Scouts BSA Girls Troop 838

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Community Hospital announced it has become the charter organization for Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Girls Troop 838. The troop will receive logistical support from the hospital, provide meeting space and assist in the troop’s growth and development. BDCH Chief Talent Officer Mel Bruins says this decision aligns closely with their mission and vision and is a way for them to make a positive impact on youth in the community. Examples of ways the hospital anticipates to work with the troop include healthy camping recipe demonstrations, fire safety instruction, first aid and emergency preparedness and health care education. BSA Troop 838 Scoutmaster Tony Kikkert says that his group is excited to have such an engaged partner as their charter organization. Families of girls in 5-12 grade are invited to learn more about troop 838 at a recruitment event on Monday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital first-floor conference room.
