Beaver Dam Boys Have Record Setting Season Opener

The Beaver Dam boys basketball team locked down Baraboo in a 77-25 season opening win on Thursday night at the BDHS Fieldhouse.  The 25 points given up ties a school record for least points allowed in a game in program history.   The last time they gave up just 25 points was against Wisconsin Rapids in 2012. They also only gave up 25 against West Bend East in the 1996-97 season.  The 52 point win also sets a school record for largest margin of victory, topping a 46 point win over Sheboygan Falls in the 1965-66 season.   Michigan Tech recruit Nate Abel led the Golden Beavers with 17.  Ty Bunkoske and Brady Helbing each added 12 while Evan Sharkey scored 10.  Beaver Dam (1-0) will travel to Watertown on Saturday night.
