BDACT: Opening Night For ‘Into The Woods’

8/11/17 – It is opening night for the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre’s main stage summer musical. Into The Woods director Ryan Madala-Klug describes the show as a musical journey with an original story based on several Brothers Grimm fairy tales. A childless baker and his wife set out on a mission to begin a family but must break a Witch’s curse. Their travels bring them to interact with characters from Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Cinderella and more. Madala-Klug says show makes one question happily ever after. The eighteen-member cast comes from eight communities in the area including Beaver Dam, Fox Lake, Mayville, Columbus, Randolph, Deforest, Sun Prairie and Milwaukee. While the community theatre typically holds its summer shows at the high school auditorium, because of construction, these performances are being held at the theatre building on North Spring Street. There are ten shows through August 20th with evening performances at 7pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm. More information is available at
