BDACT: Opening Night for “The Wedding Singer”

If you miss frosted jeans, fluorescent shirts and Aquanet hairspray may want to check out the summer musical at the Beaver Dam Area Community Theater, where – starting tonight – they’ll be partying like its 1985. The Wedding Singer is the Broadway musical version of the 1998 Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore romantic-comedy set in the 80’s. The two versions are alike in terms of the characters, the comedy and the PG-13 rating but Director Brian Tuel says the original music has a life of its own that is reminiscent the decade that brought the world VanHalen, Journey and Boy George. The Wedding Singer is on the stage of the Beaver Dam High School Auditorium for six shows over the next two weekends. http://www.bdact.org/
