(Beaver Dam) Auditions are being held Sunday (August 18th) and Monday (August 19th) for the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre’s production of The Laramie Project.
Director Rich Zeman says the Laramie Project is a powerful contemporary drama that explores reactions to the 1998 murder of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming.
Auditions will be in a drop-in format with candidates being asked to perform a dramatic monologue of their choosing of about one minute in length. Cast needs include four men and four women with each performer portraying five-to-ten different characters throughout the performance. Candidates are advised that the Laramie Project is intended for mature audiences with actors performing in scenes containing strong language and adult content.
Auditions will be held at the Beaver Dam Fine Arts Center from 6:30pm till 8:30pm with call backs being held on August 20th at 630pm. Rehearsals begin later this month with the show on the stage in October. For those seeking more information about the performance or auditioning, contact director Rich Zeman at [email protected]
