BDACT Hosting Paddle City Big Band’s Inaugural Concert

(Beaver Dam) The Paddle City Big Band will be holding their inaugural concert at the Beaver Dam Area Community Theater this Sunday, November 20th.

A big band, also known as a jazz orchestra, is a type of jazz music ensemble of ten or more musicians consisting of four sections: saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. This band is composed of 17 musicians, with 12 of them being current or retired music teachers.

It was created by Todd and Kim Halverson, who play in bands in the Fox Valley area and in Madison. They thought it was a good idea to provide an opportunity for audiences to enjoy talented local jazz musicians in the area, while also giving the musicians a chance to play.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online HERE. To follow the Paddle City Big Band on Facebook, click HERE.
