BDACT: Closing Weekend For ‘Little Shop Of Horrors’

6/29/17 – It is the closing weekend at the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre for their performance of Little Shop of Horrors. The production is a first for the theatre with a cast and crew comprised of only high school students and recent graduates from around the area. It joins programs for that had been offered for years to elementary and middle schoolers. The move to add a high school level show was the brain child of director and theatre board member Mark Lefeber. Lefeber says the idea is to enhance the offerings at the theatre and he is thrilled by what he has seen so far from youth around the area. Many of the actors come from outside Beaver Dam including Sun Prairie, Markesan, Columbus and Portage. Lefeber says these are not just high schoolers they are phenomenal performers with a lot of dedication. Lefeber notes that the performers do not give up half of their summer to drive from far and wide if they are not dedicated and talented. Little Shop of Horrors is on the stage of the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre at 219 North Spring Street tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 7:30pm before wrapping up with a 2pm matinee on Sunday.
