BDACT: Auditions For ‘Always… Patsy Cline’

(Beaver Dam)  The Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre is holding auditions for their upcoming musical Always… Patsy Cline.  This will be the first theatrical production held within the new Fine Arts Center.  The show features two roles, Patsy Cline, and Louise.  With both roles open the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre is looking for dynamic, energetic women to fill them.

Patsy Cline, the country music legend, sings numerous songs and has a few brief monologues. You must be able to sing for a long period of time. The role will be awarded to the woman that can sound like and emulate Patsy’s style the best.

While Patsy Cline music will draw people to this show, Louise is the heart and soul of it, and the one that drives the show forward. Louise must have fantastic comedic timing and be able to speak with a southern accent. She does sing with Patsy during the show. Improvisation skills are also a plus, as she interacts with the audience throughout the performance.

Those auditioning will have to sing one of the following Patsy Cline songs: “I fall to pieces,” “Crazy” or “Honky Tonk Merry Go Round.” An accompanist will be provided.  You will also have to read a monologue (in a southern accent) that will be provided.

Auditions will be held on Sunday and Monday, October 7 and 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. You will not need to come both nights. Callbacks, if necessary, will be Thursday, October 11 at 7:00 pm. The location of auditions will be the BDACT Fine Arts Center located at 117 West Maple Ave. Performances of ALWAYS…PATSY CLINE will take place between January 23 and February 3.
