7/17/17 – An art exhibit featuring works created around Beaver Dam got under yesterday. A four-day Plein Air Festival was held late last week capped off by the exhibit opening. Plein Air means to paint in open air and artists who participate must capture an actual image from within the geographic area designated by festival organizers, in this case within the city limits. Beaver Dam Area Art Association Executive Director Jessalyn Braun says artists traveled from all over Wisconsin to capture art as it happens. Subject matter includes historic buildings, landscapes, and local waterways. Braun says the art is for sale would be a great addition to have in any home. The Beaver Dam Plein Air exhibit at the Seippel Homestead and Center for the Arts runs through August 26.
