The new exhibit at the Beaver Dam Area Arts Association opens this afternoon. The Membership Art Exhibit features local and regional talent who are members of the Arts Association. Executive Director Karla Jensen says the exhibit celebrates artists who have always had a passion for creativity since childhood and those who have been inspired to pick up a brush, a pencil, charcoal, clay, fiber or beads to create something that reflects themselves, their views of the world and their surroundings. This particular exhibit will showcase familiar names in Dodge County, including Earl Ritter, Terrill Knaack (terrel kuh-knock), Frank Mittelstadt and James Milton Smith alongside artists who may not yet be as well-known like Erik Anderson, Joan Stackpole, Shannon Kelly and Emily McKnight. Fox Lake artist Judy Beyer is the featured artist, sharing her many watercolors pieces. The opening reception for the Membership Exhibit is today from 1 until 4 pm at the Seippel Arts Center on North Spring Street in Beaver Dam.
