The Beaver Dam Youth Baseball & Softball season began on May 5th at the Beaver Dam Athletic Field with baseball action from the following age groups:
Single A (7-8) year olds
Pirates-1 Orioles-0
Easton Stommel led the way for the Pirates with the glove and at the plate plate driving in the lone run of the game.
Red Sox-5 Brewers-0
Liam Schweiger homered in the first to get the scoring going for the Brewers.
Double A (9-10) year olds
A’s-7 Pirates-5
Red Sox-2 Astros-1
The stellar pitching of Cameron Ahearn, Nolan Longseth, and Owen Hoekstra along with the signal calling of catcher Levi Gruenewald led to the victory for the Red Sox.
Brewers-8 Angels-0
A 2-run home run by Brock Rettschlag and two spotless innings of pitching by Guage Jones helped the Brewers beat the Angels.
Triple A (11-12( year olds
Padres-8 Pirates-0
Cardinals-6 Marlins-5
The last inning Marlins comeback in the top of the frame capped off by a two out run scoring hit by Wilson Corcoran was thwarted by Hunter Martin’s double to right-center that scored the winning run in walk off fashion for the Cardinals.
