BD Post 146 Legion Blanks New Richmond At State

 The Beaver Dam Post 146 White Construction American Legion baseball team is still alive in the 19U AA State Tournament after a 5-0 win over New Richmond on Sunday afternoon in West Salem.  

Jeff Freund struck out five and gave up just two hits in a complete game shutout victory for Post 146.    Beaver Dam scored three times in the first as Jerek Westover knocked in a pair with an RBI single and Carson Franke earned an RBI with a bases loaded walk.   Post 146 added their fourth run in the 5th when Westover scored on a Jake Julka grounder to 2nd.  Boston Damon scored the final run of the game in the 7th as he scored from 2nd on a bunt single by Kyler Keel.

At the plate, Freund went 2×4 with a double and one run scored while Westover was 3×4 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored.  Damon and Julka also collected two hits each.

Beaver Dam (19-5) will face Seymour (17-8) on Monday afternoon at 1:30pm.  Coverage begins at 1:15pm on 1430 ESPN Beaver Dam.  Post 146 needs to win to stay alive in their quest for a seventh state title in program history.

Onalaska and Medford will play at 11am on Monday morning.
