Beaver Dam Post 146 White Construction fell to Waterford 6-5 in 10 innings at the AA American Legion State Tournament in Mauston on Friday.
Post 146 grabbed an early 1-0 lead as Neil Beaker’s sac fly to center in the bottom of the 2nd plated Bradon Franke.
After Waterford put two on the board in the top of the 3rd, Franke crushed a towering two run homer to left giving BD the lead back at 3-2.
It stayed that way until Waterford forced extra innings with a single run in the top of the 7th.
After Waterford took a 4-3 lead in the top of the 9th, BD pulled even as pinch runner Jeff Bemis scored on a two out wild pitch.
Waterford’s Sean Schultz crushed a two-out, two run triple to right center in the top of the tenth to take the lead right back. Beaver Dam wouldn’t go down without a fight as Neil Braker’s two out, RBI double cut the lead to one, but that’s as close as they could get. Broden Boschert reached on fielder’s choice to load the bases and Wes Biel flew out to center to end the game.
Boyd Biggs picked up the win for Waterford while Adam Chase took the loss for Beaver Dam.
