Barbara L. Heiling, 89, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Hillside Manor.
Barbara was born on November 28, 1936 the daughter of William and Inez (Janisch) Rhodes. Barb studied at UW Whitewater, where she received her Wisconsin Teaching Degree. Early in her career she taught in Waterloo and then in a one-room school in the Reeseville area. While raising her family, Barb worked as a CNA at the Beaver Dam Care Center and also seasonally for Green Giant.
Barb enjoyed knitting afghans, baking sweet treats and was fortunate enough to have attended the famous Packer Ice Bowl. She loved anything chocolate and adored her former St. Bernard dogs Buster and Molly.
Barb is survived by her sons: Charles (Erin) Heiling and Lee โBeezerโ (Angela) Heiling; grandchildren: Megan (Andrew) Bykowski, David (Brigitta) Heiling, Stacy (Gerad) Frei and Michael (Devin) Heiling; great grandchildren: Ellory and Paetyn Bykowski and Nolan Heiling; and brother-in-law John Gerbitz. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Kay Gerbitz.
As Barb wished, no formal funeral services will be held.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hillside Manor for all the years of love and support. A special thank you to Dawn and Sandy for their kindness to Barb.
