Authorities Identify Person Killed In Town Of Beaver Dam Head-On Collision

(Beaver Dam) Authorities have identified the person killed in a head-on collision on State Highway 33 in the town of Beaver Dam Friday morning. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash near Hidden Valley Drive, about two-and-a-half miles east of the city of Beaver Dam around 9:22am.

The initial investigation showed a westbound pickup truck operated by 19-year-old Jacob Anderson of Jackson crossed over the centerline. The vehicle collided with an eastbound SUV driven by 66-year-old Charles Schultz of Juneau. Anderson received minor injuries but was transported by EMS for further medical evaluation. Schultz was not restrained and was found unresponsive by emergency responders trapped inside his vehicle.

He was extricated through a window so life-saving attempts could be performed but was later pronounced dead while awaiting transfer to a medical helicopter. The crash remains under investigation but inattentive driving due to drowsiness and lack of seatbelt use are factors in the cause and seriousness of the crash. Highway 33 was closed until around 12:30pm to allow for crash cleanup and the investigation.
