Authorities Identify Iron Ridge Man Who Died in Vehicle Crash

(Hubbard) Authorities have identified the Iron Ridge man who died in a motor vehicle crash in the township of Hubbard last week. William Vollmer was heading west on County Road S and was approaching County Road WS around 2pm in a Kenworth dump truck.

Vollmer failed to stop at the stop sign, crossed both lanes of WS, entered a driveway, crossed over railroad tracks, vaulted and then overturned. The 67-year-old and only occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dodge County sheriff’s officials say an investigation by the medical examiner’s office and their agency has determined that the crash is a traffic fatality.   

Assisting at the crash scene were: Iron Ridge Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, Hustisford Fire Department, Iron Ridge First Responders, Horicon EMS, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin DNR, Iron Ridge Police Department, DCERT and the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office.
