Audrey Ann Braun

Audrey Ann Braun, 90, a life-long resident of Beaver Dam, WI, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on September 10, 2018.

Visitation for Audrey will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Thursday beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Fr. Michael Erwin will officiate.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

She was born March 21, 1928 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Victor L. and June (Arndt) Heimerl.  Audrey was a 1946 graduate of Beaver Dam High School, she played the piano and bass fiddle. She sang in the church choir during her school years.  In her earlier years Audrey and her sister Norma, sang at the band concerts in Swan City Park.  Audrey was the loving wife of the late Harry H. Braun.  They were married in 1947 and were married for almost 40 years until his passing in 1987.  Audrey and husband Harry were managers at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam, WI for many years.  After graduation she worked the front desk at the Hotel Rogers. She later worked at Kiekhafer Corp., and at St. Joseph Hospital (in the office).  Audrey was a member of St. Patrick Church from birth and St. Katharine Drexel Parish until death.

Audrey was the beloved mother of Gerald “Jerry” (Linda) Braun and Dan (Roberta) Braun, Sr.; grandmother of Jeralin Braun, Benjamin (Lam Nhi) Braun, Danny Braun, Jr., Teri (Lance) Voigt and Stephenie Tjepkema (Bob Reyes). Great  grandchildren ; Elli Tiller- Braun, Arnun Braun, Isabelle Braun, Madison Sedlock, Brooklyn Sedlock, Damien Voigt, Gavin Voigt, Braiden Reyes, and Mace Reyes; six sisters, Janis (Richard) Mack, Mary Jane (Tom) Glassman, Carol Jean Sroor, Judy (Ted) Hart, Gloria Marie (Wayne) Slade, Joyce Elizabeth (Joe) Jansma; and two brothers, William (Carolyn) Heimerl and Robert Heimerl. Audrey was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; grandparents, Francis and Lydia (Dorman) Heimerl, George and Julia (Thomas) Arndt; her sister, Norma (Neil) Torti; two brothers, Francis (Caroline) Heimerl, and Victor (Janet) Heimerl; a great grandchild Jenna Voigt; her aunt Marie Indermuehle; and two uncles Felix (Jeanette) Heimerl and Elmer (Marian) Heimerl.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Audrey’s name to Hillside Hospice.
