Attendance At Dodge County Fair Picks Up After Slow Start

8/19/17 – Attendance at the Dodge County Fair this year got off to a slow start. Fair Association Secretary Sharon Kiel says Wednesday’s numbers were hampered by bad weather. The Badger State Tractor Pullers were cancelled along with other activities including events at Radio Park because of inclement weather. While there were also some passing storms on Thursday, Kiel says based on the amount of tickets sold at the gates Thursday this year fared better than Thursday last year. When we spoke with Kiel late last night she Friday attendance was great all day long. On tap for today at the fair, day four includes: the horse pull and tractor pull at the grandstand along with the Holstein futurity show, the small animal auction, and supreme showmanship all at the Farm Progress Arena. At Radio Park, something new this year: Love & Farriage which is a large vow renewal ceremony for married couples complete with a bouquet and garter toss, a grand march, wedding toasts, wedding pictures and dancing. On the grandstand tonight, southern rockers 38-Special. The cost to enter the fair before 2pm is $7 and after 2pm is $10. There is no additional charge for the grandstand acts or parking.
