2/21/17 – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Beaver Dam Police Department cracked down on unlawful activity in the city this weekend. A tip was received that a gathering was planned at Pops Eatery, on 1102 Madison Street, so 11 sheriff’s office squads were deployed. During the six-hour deployment there were 23 traffic stops, one felony drug arrest, two misdemeanor drug arrests, one warranty arrest, and one ordinance citation for drug and drug paraphernalia possession. Reports were also made of numerous fights in the parking lot and the use of pepper spray by non-law enforcement personnel outside the establishment. Plus arrests were made for a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and bail jumping. Sherriff Dale Schmidt and Chief John Kreuziger say that this behavior will not be tolerated and our agencies will continue to work together in efforts to keep the community safe.
