A trio of area youth dance companies will be showcased at the Milwaukee Bucks playoff opener against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night at Fiserv Forum.
Around 50 dancers from Elite Dance Centre in Beaver Dam, Laura’s School of Dance in Portage and Studio A Dance Academy in Wautoma will perform their routine “Britney” during the pregame festivities.
“Britney is a four-minute jazz/jazz pop dance routine that’s high energy and exciting.” Scott Topel of Elite Dance Centre told DailyDodge.com. “It is a mashup of songs that start in Britney Spears’ early songs and end with some of her most recent.”
“The past few years, we have been invited to perform our production for the Bucks regular season games. The last two seasons, due to the pandemic, we were unable to take advantage of this opportunity and to make it up to us, they offered us a chance to do it at this big game!” Topel said. “This is a great opportunity for our dancers to perform in a major arena, potentially meet famous ballers and staff and experience what it may be like to be a performer who would be contracted to perform for events!”
Dancers taking part are between the ages of six and eighteen years old.
The group has performed the routine at numerous competitions throughout the Midwest and was the halftime entertainment at a Harlem Globetrotters game played in Madison earlier this year.
