Update: Appleton Man Killed In Rosendale Motorcycle Accident Identified

(Rosendale) Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed after striking a deer in Fond du Lac County Monday evening. James W. Fields of Appleton was northbound on Highway 26 near Rose-Eld Road in the Town of Rosendale around 11:30pm when he struck a deer that was in the roadway. The motorcycle was then struck by a southbound semi-truck. The 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Fields was the only person on the bike and was not wearing a helmet. A 53-year-old Kimberly man operating the semi was not injured. The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s office at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
