Another Record Setting Day For Wisconsin COVID-19 Cases

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 7,989 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update. There are 74,616 active cases in the state, an increase of 2,272 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 22.5-percent of the 331-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 254-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded 52 deaths, bringing that total 2,793. Deaths account for point-eight-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 4.6-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Of the over one-million people who have died worldwide, the CDC says 247-thousand people were from the United States.

Dodge County recorded five deaths Wednesday for a total of 59 with 7,102 cases, a one-day increase of 193. The county had 166 negative tests returned for a running total of 31,723.

Washington County has reported a total of 59 deaths, along with 388 new cases, bringing that number to 7,388; with 2,197 being active cases.

Fond du Lac County has 35 deaths with 7,421 positive tests on record; 1,864 are active cases.

Jefferson County has recorded 33 deaths and 4,526 cases to date; 1,280 cases were reported in the last two weeks.

There have been 10 deaths in Columbia County where there have been 2,855 total cases; currently the county has 880 active cases.

Green Lake County has logged five deaths and has 1,079 cases on record, with 225 cases reported in the last two weeks.
