(Beaver Dam) A new proposal from Alliant Energy would see steady electric and natural gas rates into 2021. The plan, recently filed with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, delays the periodic rate review that was set for this month while providing additional support and stability for customers during the ongoing COVID-19 health crises. President of Alliant Energy – Wisconsin David de Leon says while the pandemic continues to create uncertainty they are doing what they can to keep supporting customers and the communities they serve. He adds keeping rates steady is the sensible approach and the right thing to do. The company says while holding rates steady, they plan to bring two new projects into service that will benefit customers. The Kossuth Wind Project will start providing cleaner and low-cost energy for Alliant Energy users later this year. The other project, the Western Wisconsin Gas Expansion, will meet customers’ growing needs for reliable gas services in time for this year’s heating season. The proposal, which is subject to review by the Public Service Commission, is available on their website at www.psc.wi.gov. Alliant Energy says they look forward to working with the Commission and stakeholders to get an expedited approval.
