10/13/11 – A Washington County woman has been charged with taking heroin while chaperoning a school field trip. 28-year-old Stephanie Bailey of Allenton is free on a $500 cash bond, after being charged in Ozaukee County with illegal possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The incident happened during a field trip to Pioneer Village by youngsters at Wayne Elementary School in Kewaskum. According to Superintendent David Ewald, Bailey joined her seven-year-old son on the trip when she used a restroom and never came out. She was later found unconscious on the bathroom floor, with heroin and drug paraphernalia said to be close by. Teachers gave her first aid and then called 9-1-1. The status of Bailey’s court case will be reviewed October 20th. On-line court records showed that she had no other criminal offenses.
