(Waupun) The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Dodge County is hosting a conference later this month that focuses on Lewy Body Dementia. This type of dementia affects 1.4 million people living in the United States and involves an array of complex symptoms that are misunderstood including movement, sleep, autonomic, and visual.
The conference, called ‘A Day with Lewy,’ will explore new treatment options and will allow participants to connect with experts. Dementia Care Specialist Rob Griesel says it is important to raise awareness.
“It was really important to us to get more education, more resources out to that population,” says Griesel.
The conference is taking place at Edgewood Community Church at 201 Edgewood Drive in Waupun on October 24th from 8am to 4pm. The deadline to register is October 15th.
