ADRC Of Dodge County Hosting Class On Federal Health Insurance

(Juneau) The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Dodge County is hosting a class to educate the public about federal health insurance for people age 65 or older. It is called “Medicare Basics and Beyond” and is an introduction to those using Medicare for the first time.

“It’s definitely for people who are new to Medicare or you’re going to be starting Medicare in the next six months,” says Elder Benefits Specialist Jennie Farmer. “Whether or not that’s because you’re reaching the age of 65, or you’re reaching that 24 month period after starting disability benefits through social security. Or if you’re going to be POA or guardian of someone who’s going to be starting Medicare soon.”

Farmer says that the class is also for anyone who wants to be prepared to use Medicare and some people take it more than once.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Dodge County class called Medicare Basics and Beyond is on Tuesday, January 17th, at 1pm.
