(Juneau) The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Dodge County is highlighting an upcoming program that helps prevent older adults from falling. Officials with the Resource Center says the Stepping On Program, which is offered virtually, has been researched and proven to reduce falls by 31-percent. One in four older adults has a fall each year according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Wisconsin leads the nation in fall-related deaths for people age 60 and older. In the seven weekly, two-hour sessions, participants are given strategies for avoiding falls such as balance and strength exercises. Guest experts include a physical therapist and a pharmacist. The workshops will take place September 10th through October 29th, with no classes planned on October 1st, at the Watermark in Beaver Dam from 10am to noon.
